Situated in the magnificent Quirimbas Archipelago, Northern Mozambique, Medjumbe Island is 800 metres in length and 350 metres wide - a magical destination with private beaches and countless coves to be discovered and blissful surroundings to be experienced. The island is accessed from Pemba by light aircraft transfer, a mere 40 minute flight. Alternatively from Matemo Island resort, a 20 minute flight.

Located on the remote Medjumbe Island - one of the many islands making up the Quirimbas Archipelago in Northern Mozambique - Medjumbe Island Resort is an intimate island resort, the ideal Mozambique island getaway for those who wish to experience exclusivity and privacy on a remote tropical island.

The Medjumbe Resort accommodation consists of a total of 13 thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms fitted with indoor shower and separate bath as well as a private outdoor shower.

All chalets are beautifully furnished and are equipped with air conditioning, outdoor hammock, ceiling fans, fully mosquito screened, hair dryer, mini bar, personal electronic safe, satellite TV and the convenience of tea/coffee making facilities.

Chalets are set separately from the main building where you'll dine on sublime local seafood fare, relax at the swimming pool and enjoy exotic cocktails at the bar.

DIVING AROUND MEDJUMBE ISLAND

The coral reefs surrounding Medjumbe Island are one of Mozambique's best kept secrets. Bordered by the Northern Mozambique coastline and the Mozambique Channel, these waters hold an astounding diversity of marine species and are all within close proximity to the resort. Dolphins are often encountered around the Island and to and from the dive sites. Humpback Whales on their annual migration are frequently sighted between August and October

MEDJUMBE ISLAND RESORT DIVE CENTRE

A range of scuba diving courses are offered at Medjumbe Island Resort from Discover Scuba, Open Water and Advanced Open water. Whether you are a novice or experienced diver, you can experience the magic of scuba diving in the Quirimbas.

The Activities Manager will be available to personalize your schedule with regards to experience level and preferred dive sites. Please provide Certification Cards, Logbooks and complete our Indemnity Form before the first dive.

Depths and dive times are planned according to experience levels. Maximum Depth for any dive is 30m. All dives are guided by a PADI certified Instructor. Groups are limited to 6 divers. Single and Double-tank dive trips are available and packages can be arranged to suit individual needs.

Their diving equipment is of the highest quality. Fit your equipment at the Activity Center, Personal Dive Gear will gladly be stored for you. The staff will set up and rinse all dive equipment. Cylinders are 10l steel at 200bar. Dive computers are not supplied.

Motorised transport is provided to and from the dive boat along the beach at low tides. All your equipment will be set up on board. Limited space is available for dry storage.
