THE NORTHERN ROUTE SAFARI, TANZANIA
Day 1 – Flight from Dar El Salam to Arusha, arrival in Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet & greet and transfer to Moivaro Coffee Lodge for dinner & overnight on H/B. A delightful lodge surrounded by a coffee plantation.
Day 2 – Drive with picnic lunch to Manyara National Park approximately 120km southwest of Arusha This park is tiny, but yet one of the most diverse, a combination of Rift Valley Lake, dense woodlands and steep mountainside. Manyara is a birding paradise with more than 380 species. Famous for its tree climbing lions, picnic at the shores of the Lake Manyara. Dinner and overnight Eunoto Retreat F/B.
Day 3 - After breakfast drive to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area with lunch box as you game drive enroute in the world's most famous park. For proximity to nature and wildlife this is the ideal formula to come into closest contact with the African Wilderness. Dinner and overnight at Ikoma bush camp F/B
Day 4 - Awaken in the wilderness, where the wild animals temporarily lend you their space and where you can enjoy the most beautiful African landscapes. Feeling the fragrance of the wild, the morning calls of duskn and share for a few days life with mother earth. Full day game drive in Serengeti with lunch box your chance to see predators chaising their pray and enjoy their kill. Dinner and overnight at Ikoma bush camp F/B
Day 5 - Breakfast leisurely, and late morning depart for Ngorongoro, crossing the various dormant volcanic islands, with a visit to Olduvai Gorge (not included $ 5 entrance fees pp) to see the remains of the first man! Drive to Ngorongoro Farm House with lunch box, an exclusive lodge facing the Oldeani Volcano, a 500 acre coffee farm. An old colonial farm and rustically decorated with local materials, full of details of good taste an original experience reminiscent of the old days. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro farm House F/B
Day 6 - An early departure after breakfast, drive to Nogongoro crater, for a game drive with a lunch box. Descend into one of the eighth wonders of the world! A spectacular and breath-taking experience of a life time as you drive down into the crater floor, the largest intact caldera in the world at 600m deep it is home to a permanent population of more than 30,000 animals, and is one of the on places in Africa where you stand a chance of seeing the "big five" (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant) in the course of a days game drive. Unique to the crater is the local Maasai graze their cattle on the floor, and it is not unusual to see Maasai cattle and buffalo grazing together, with a lion kill just a few hundred metres away! Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Farm House HB.
Day 7 - An early morning departure after breakfast, drive to Tarangire approximately 200km 2hrs 30 mins. Upon entry, Tarangire has impressive an landscape, thousands baobab trees around in a totally different habitat. Tarangire is the house of some of the largest concentrations of elephants in Tanzania. Game drive en route arrive in time for lunch at the camp, settle and in the afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire River Camp, F/B.
Day 8 - Depart for Arusha Town, after breakfast. Stop for lunch (not included). Transfer to Kilimanjaro airport for international flight.
