The resort is situated on a private island which is approximately 3 miles from the coast of North Sulawesi. The Island of Gangga is

the first of an archipelago of small islands, many of which are still unexplored, connecting Indonesia to the Philippines. The canal that separates Gangga with the mainland is the one that unites the Pacific Ocean with the Indian Ocean and that is why this place is considered one of the worlds best environments for crystal clear waters and the underwater life. The closest city is Manado, at a distance from Gangga of one hour by car and 30 minutes by boat.

This exotic resort , built under shady palms and surrounded by tropical gardens running directly down to a beach of pure white sand, is located on the tip of the small island of Gangga.
Gangga Island Resort & SPA is operated by a couple of Professional Hoteliers. Gaspare and Hanne together they have managed 5 Stars Hotels and Hotel Schools in Europe and Asia. Gaspare has a long association with Indonesia where in the eighties assisted the Ministry of Tourism in the opening of the first Vocational Hotel Institute in Bali. Gangga Island Resort features:15 wooden local Minahasa style bungalows, each with two rooms with a spacious veranda overlooking the beach and neighboring islands. Each of the 30 rooms are equipped with comfortable furnishings, satellite television with international channels, bathroom with hot and cold water shower, air conditioner, ceiling fan, mini bar, complimentary coffee and tea making facilities, complementary bottled water.

DIVING IN GANGGA

The small island of Gangga offers a unique opportunity to dive some of the world’s finest waters. In the heart of Indian and Pacific Ocean conjunction, nominated “The triangle of Biodiversity”, Gangga is perfectly situated in front of North coast and very close to different other islands like Lihaga, Tindila, Talisei and Bangka.

The diving sites offer different kind of characteristics:
In the Talisei Island and Bangka Island dive sites there are deep coral reef, walls, drop-offs and amazing caves, where you can encounter schools of batfishes and angelfishes, large tuna, jack fishes, large lion fish, barracuda, sharks and fantastic colourfully large sea fan, sponge and hard coral like acropora. Lihaga Island and in some spot of Bangka and Talisei Island offer shore diving , soft coral , leaf fish, ribbon eel moray , many colourful and rare sea slugs, frog fish and sea snakes.

This means that most types of underwater photography are possible, from wide angle to macro photography.

Being a member of the North Sulawesi Watersports Association (NSWA), Gangga Island Resort is committed to protecting the local reefs and is involved in conservation and development projects aimed at helping the local communities in the creation of sustainable tourism activities.

Gangga's PADI Dive Center is run by International dive instructors. Qualified guides and dive masters pride themselves in offering very personalized diving service to suit and safely assist divers of all levels of experience.

GEO-DIVE OPINION

Although close to Manado, this island offers a different type of holiday, and not just for divers. Surrounded by a fabulous white sandy beach, by lush vegetation and by towering palm trees it’s the ideal location for a tropical break with the family, or for a honeymoon.

There are many and varied dive locations, offering a chance to see all types and sizes of creature, and dives can also be arranged in Bunaken and Lembeh. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
