RANVELI VILLAGE - SOUTH ARI ATOLL - MALDIVES
Located in South Ari Atoll, one of the 20 administrative atolls of the Maldives, Ranveli lies 35km from the airport island. From the airport you travel to Ranveli either by sea plane or helicopter. It takes just half an hour to get to the landing pad from which you would travel to Ranveli on the traditional dhoni.
Ranveli - literally meaning Golden Sand in the local language, the island with its beautiful sandy beaches, the tall palm trees and mirror-like clear water, is a self-contained paradise. One of its most distinguishing features, and also its most beautiful, is the long white beach that stretches away from the island. Like a deliberately constructed road to the edge of the sea, this naturally created stretch of white sand lets you understand the true meaning of “a walk on the beach”.
To let you make the most of the beauty even while you are in your room, every one of the superior 56 rooms on Ranveli have been designed to give you a view of the beach and the ocean. All facing the beach, the rooms are air-conditioned, and contain a mini-bar, piped in music and IDD telephone among its many modern amenities.
The bathrooms are airy and spacious and all contain bath tub and shower with fresh hot and cold water.
Faced with the wide choice of things to do in Ranveli, you would be hard put decide what is best. Apart from the diving and water sports, Ranveli has a wide range of activities that you can choose to do. Island Hopping; here you get to visit nearby inhabited islands to catch a glimpse of life in a traditional Maldivian fishing village. Fishing, the traditional Maldivian occupation, is an integral part of the Maldives. You can try your luck at catching some of them by joining the morning and night fishing expeditions that Ranveli arranges for you on a regular basis.
Diving
Scuba Diving for the complete novice or for the experienced divers would be an experience at Ranveli. The Momo Marine Club with experienced instructors offers the opportunity for you to gain a PADI certificate, from the beginner level to Masters. The Momo Instructors could lead you to some of the best dive spots - they know every coral and every fish in those sites. You are in good hands all the way.
