YEMEN SCUBA DIVING TRIPS

YEMEN SCUBA DIVING TRIPS

The Red Sea is an old waterway where Egyptian  and Turkish shipwrecks reveal the rise and fall of bygone empires. Considered one of the best diving areas in the world, the southern tips of this sea still boast stunning coral reefs. But it is not just a diving destination. In fact around the numerous islands scattered along the Yemenite coast there is what has been called a uniquely abundant and varied life.

The Red Sea attracts visitors from all over the globe keen to sample the superb warm and clear waters by means of swimming, diving, snorkelling, and sailing around an exceptional and spectacular landscape where the blue of waters meets the green of the vegetation and the multicoloured lava flows of the volcanoes. And for those not so much into water activities, the secluded Yemen islands offer spectacular climbing, trekking, island exploration, sun tanning, bird-watching and relaxing walks with wonderful views of the sea and coastline from high above.

CLIMATE IN YEMEN

Best Period: all year round, in general the northern archipelagos are best from Oct. To Apr.; while the southern islands from May to Sept.

OUR OPINION

Culture and diving – a new approach to travel in a fascinating and mysterious destination. Cruises are conducted by highly-qualified European crew, nothing is left to chance and everything is efficiently organised. We recommend it to those divers looking for an adventurous way to explore the destination, away from mass tourism.

The waters are healthy and rich in fish, sometimes visibility is not the best, but it’s still an experience not to be missed.

CLIMATE IN YEMEN

Its varied geography means Oman has a wide variety of climatic conditions. Muscat is fiercely hot and humid from mid-March until October and pleasantly warm from October to March. Indeed, during June unwavering humidity and average day-to-day 31-38°C (88-100°F) temperatures make for seriously dangerous conditions. In the southern Salalah area, humid weather with temperatures approaching 30°C (90°F) is common even in December. Unlike the predominantly dry northern region, the Salalah area gets drenched by monsoon.
